Laura Edwards-Leeper, PhD is a licensed clinical psychologist who enjoys working with children, adolescents, and adults. She is currently an assistant professor in the School of Professional Psychology at Pacific University in Hillsboro, Oregon but continues to see clients for gender identity evaluations in her practice at Eastside Psychological Associates. Previously, Dr. Edwards-Leeper worked at Seattle Children’s Hospital, Boston Children’s Hospital, and Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Edwards-Leeper completed her post-graduate training at Montana State University’s Counseling Center and on the Crow/Northern Cheyenne Indian Reservation, and finished a postdoctoral fellowship at Cambridge Health Alliance and Harvard Medical School. While at Boston Children’s Hospital, she was the founding psychologist for the Gender Management Service (GeMS) where she completed comprehensive psychological evaluations with transgender adolescents to help determine whether a medical intervention was in their best interest. Dr. Edwards-Leeper continues her involvement with GeMS research endeavors, has coauthored book chapters and peer-reviewed journal articles, and has been interviewed by various media outlets. Dr. Edwards-Leeper is a member of the American Psychological Association Task Force developing practice guidelines for working with transgender individuals and has been identified as a national expert in this area. Dr. Edwards-Leeper is only available for comprehensive gender evaluations (children, adolescents, and adults) at this time.
